Short history of our parish

 

            The Roman Catholic Family of Daysland, Heisler, Killam and Parishes:

 

            Initiated on January 28th, 1999 with the following guidelines:

·         There would be 1 administrative centre, probably at Daysland;

·         A new charity’s # would be applied for;

·         1 secretary would be hired;

·         there would be a move to a computerized accounting system.

·         Three parish centres – Daysland, Heisler, Killam

 

Current Mass Schedule was proposed in February, 1999 mass rotation:                 Saturday  7 pm

                                                                                                                        Sunday     9 am 

                                                                                                                        Sunday   11 am

 

Administrative Office began in Daysland May 1st, 1999

 

Common Bulletin: May 8th, 1999

 

Charity Status began July, 1999:

  • St. Joseph: Bawlf ,

  • St. Joseph: Hardisty

  • Our Lady of Fatima: Strome

  • St. Peter: Strome

  • St. Boniface: Spring Lake

 

Current Mass Schedule began in mid July, 1999 with Rev. Larry Pederson

 

Daysland Rectory sold in September, 1999

 

Administrative Office later changed to Killam.
